SOFTWARE PROJECT

At the request of the client, the SAECON engineers are able to design and implement software of:
– Office Automation.
– System Automation.

The project is structured according to the following phases:
– Meeting with the client and understanding of the internal processes that one would like to automate.
– Feasibility study and definition of a basic algorithm.
– Writing custom software.
– Testing and delivery to the customer.

The development of «Office Automation» software allows:
– automate management, administrative or planning operations or processes
– reduce costs and time for placing on the market
– increase efficiency

The developed code is generally based on the VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) language. Other languages can be evaluated in case of need.

The following are some examples of case studies:

Software for recoding of assemblies:
Customer need: reconvert old 3D assemblies, made up of several thousands of components, replacing the previously used names with newly adopted codes.
Customer criticality: work to be done manually, long, repetitive, expensive. Running time: 1 week.
Solution proposed by SAECON: VBA program able to:
– read the 3D model tree
– verify, on the basis of a match file, the need to recode each component
– save the related component with the new name.
Result achieved: with execution times of about 30min you are able to convert a model of about 5000 components.

Software automatic conversion of drawings into different formats
Customer need: provide several hundred drawings in PDF, DXF or DWG format to your customers or suppliers.
Customer criticality: work to be done manually, long, repetitive, expensive. Running time: a few hours.
Solution proposed by SAECON: VBA program which, by receiving the position on the disk of the drawings to be converted and the desired format, executes the operation automatically.
Result achieved: With execution times of about 4min you are able to convert about 100 designs.

Software development and preparation of production plans
Customer need: draw up a production plan for each job order and integrate it into the management software.
Customer criticality: work to be done manually, long, repetitive, expensive. Running time: 1 hour.
Solution proposed by SAECON: VBA program which, starting from the job bill of materials, automatically performs the various work phases.
Result achieved: With execution times of around 20min, you are able to draw up the entire production plan and integrate it into the company management system.

Based on the knowledge of different languages for embedded systems (such as LD, ST, C ++) and knowledge of the operation of electric drives, SAECON engineers are able to:
– supporting the customer during the implementation of the drive control and parameterization software.
– define state machines for managing the flow of events.
– write and test the control or interface code.
